They learn new songs, listen to bible stories, discover what it means to follow Jesus Christ and be introduced to a whole host of characters found in and amongst the pages of the bible. Together they take part in a variety of activities; they'll be invited to learn a new song or even a new dance move. It's fun and exciting and gives mum and dad a chance to pray and be still in church. Some Sunday's there may even be a show and tell presentation so that everyone else back in the church can discover what the children have been doing.
Sometimes the very little ones may need mum or dad to come along but we do our very best to accommodate each and every child along with their parents. There is also a creche room available for parents with babies and toddlers to use if they want to. In the creche and the children's toilets there are baby changing facilities.
During term time the children will occasionally be encouraged to stay in church during the 10 am Sunday service and take part in an all-age worship. Depending on age and confidence, children will be invited and suitably prepared to help in leading the service. That might mean they read one of the lessons, or bring up the gifts at the offertory. They may even occasionally be invited to teach the congregation something about the bible or some really important issue.
Little Edz is staffed by volunteers from St Edmund's Church and are CRB checked. For more information please contact us on 01322 311201 or simply come along to a sunday service.
